Clinical Educator
The Clinical Educator is a reflective practice tool that helps clinicians think through their clinical reasoning — designed to support professional development through Socratic questioning and published literature.
How It Works
Start a new session from the Clinical Educator page and link it to a consultation. The educator provides:
- Reflective questions — Socratic prompts that encourage you to think through your clinical reasoning
- Case context — a summary of the linked consultation with presenting condition, aggravating/easing factors, and progress
- Published literature — links to relevant research and guidelines
- Smart search — query the patient's full history to inform your reflection
The Clinical Educator is an educational tool — it never provides diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or clinical decisions. All clinical reasoning is clinician-led.
Starting a Session
- Navigate to the Clinical Educator page from the main sidebar
- Click New Session and link it to a consultation
- The case context panel loads with the consultation summary
- Use the chat to reflect on the case — the educator asks questions to help you think through your reasoning
Supervision Integration
For clinics with supervision workflows:
- Clinicians can flag a session for supervisor review via Request Follow-Up
- Supervisors receive a summary of the session for discussion
- Sessions are tagged for easy filtering in the supervisor's review queue
Privacy
Clinical Educator chat messages are stored securely and linked to the session. Only the clinician and their designated supervisor can access session content.
