Consultation Recorder

Learn how to use the AI scribe to record consultations, transcribe in real time, and draft structured notes.

Consultation Recorder

The AI scribe captures clinical conversations, transcribes them in real time, and drafts structured notes — so you can stay present with your patient.

Starting a Recording

  1. From the dashboard, click New Consultation
  2. Select the patient from your patient list or create a new record
  3. Click the Record button — you'll see a live waveform indicating the microphone is active
  4. Conduct your consultation as normal

Always obtain patient consent before recording. Quicka Health provides a consent prompt at the start of each recording.

During the Session

While recording, Quicka Health:

  • Displays a live transcript of the conversation
  • Shows relevant patient context and session timing
  • Tracks session duration

You can pause and resume the recording if needed — for example, during a physical examination.

After the Session

When you click Stop, Quicka Health processes the recording and drafts:

  • Clinical notes in your preferred format (SOAP, DAP, or narrative)
  • Treatment plan handouts when they were discussed
  • Follow-up actions for the next session
  • Referral letters and forms when they were mentioned during the session

Reviewing Notes

Draft notes appear in the review panel. You can:

  • Edit any section before approving
  • Switch between note formats
  • Add or remove sections
  • Flag items for supervisor review

Once approved, notes can be pushed to your practice management system with one click.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use a quality microphone — built-in laptop mics work, but a headset or desk mic gives better results
  • Minimise background noise
  • Speak clearly and at a natural pace
  • Refer to clinical terms naturally — the AI is trained on medical terminology
